Operations Portal

The Client

This is a project that I worked on for the top grossing Home Improvement retailer. 

The Problem

The Site Ops Portal is a solution that came about in order to replace an old legacy system. The Portal is used to monitor the health of the e-commerce site along with all of the apps associated with the product purchase lifecycle. The old system was difficult to read and Site Reliability Engineers were not easily able to identify when a problem arose. The Site Ops Portal addresses these issues by allowing users to focus on specific time spans, calling out key metrics, and incorporating data visualizations.

The Process

  • User Interviews - What did users like/dislike about legacy system? What do they need to work more efficiently?

  • Design Studio - Design input from product team. PM’s, Software Engineers, and UX

  • Wireframes, Mockups and Prototyping*

  • User Testing*

  • Synthesis of Findings (Testing and Interviews)*

        * Steps repeated if/when necessary
